IonCleanse by AMD Heavy Metals Study — 2008 Final Report
A 2008 pre-post study conducted by the Center for Research Strategies evaluated heavy metal blood levels in 31 participants across Colorado and North Carolina before and after 12 weeks of IonCleanse footbath sessions (twice weekly), combined with meditation and nutritional supplementation. Whole blood samples were analyzed for aluminum, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury using ICP-MS at Metametrix Laboratories. Results showed statistically significant decreases in aluminum and arsenic levels after the 12-week period. Notably, pre-existing sex and geographic differences in aluminum levels disappeared post-treatment. Cadmium and lead showed no significant changes. The study authors noted critical limitations: no control group was used, preventing causal conclusions.

| Participants | 31 adults (Colorado + North Carolina) |
| Duration | 12 weeks (2 sessions/week) |
| Metals Tested | Aluminum, Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury |
| Laboratory | Metametrix Laboratories — ICP-MS |
Results by Metal
- Aluminum: Significant decrease. Sex/geographic differences disappeared.
- Arsenic: Significant decrease in blood levels.
- Cadmium: No significant change (initially low).
- Lead: No significant difference.
Limitations
- No control group — no causal conclusions possible
- Combined intervention (footbaths + meditation + supplements)
- Changes could be due to confounding factors
