IonCleanse by AMD — Preliminary Study with Analyte List

A preliminary study sponsored by AMD examined bathwater composition after IonCleanse footbath sessions with 12 adult participants in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico (July 27-28, 2004). Researchers analyzed the footbath water for biological analytes to determine whether substances were excreted through the feet. The study detected measurable levels of urea (14.93 +/- 9.47 mg/dL), creatinine (0.050 +/- 0.029 mg/dL), and glucose (5.18 +/- 1.54 mg/dL) in post-session bathwater. Researchers attributed these findings to osmotic diffusion through the skin mediated by co-transporters coupling cation transport with substrates including sugars, amino acids, and ions.

Key Analytes Detected

  • Urea: 14.93 +/- 9.47 mg/dL
  • Creatinine: 0.050 +/- 0.029 mg/dL
  • Glucose: 5.18 +/- 1.54 mg/dL

Author: Neill Moroney. The IonCleanse by AMD is not a medical device and makes no claims of treatment, diagnosis, prevention, or cure.
